Mollie removed Payconiq from WooCommerce

Current decisionMerchants actively offering Payconiq should prepare and test another payment method before updating from version 8.1.2 or earlier to version 8.1.3 or later.

The official Mollie Payments for WooCommerce changelog says version 8.1.3, released January 19, 2026, deleted the Payconiq payment method. Payconiq had been added in version 7.7.0. The latest listed release is 8.1.7, so the removal remains part of the current release line.

Do not rely only on the directory description.The current WordPress.org description still lists Payconiq even though its changelog says the method was deleted. Verify the actual options in your Mollie Dashboard and WooCommerce checkout.

7.7.0 — August 12, 2024: Payconiq was added.
8.1.3 — January 19, 2026: the changelog says, “Deleted – Payconiq payment method.”
8.1.7 — June 15, 2026: the latest release notes do not restore Payconiq.

Who is affected?

This matters most when your store runs 8.1.2 or earlier, Payconiq is enabled, customers actually use it, and you plan to update to 8.1.3 or later. Stores that never offered Payconiq are not directly affected by this removal.

Confirm the installed version. The documented removal begins with 8.1.3.

Test in staging. Verify visibility, successful payment, failed payment, order status, emails, refunds, and webhooks.
Update during a low-volume window. Confirm the replacement appears in production.
Monitor conversion and payment failures. Compare results before and after the change.

Which replacement should you use?

There is no universal replacement. The right method depends on the merchant's country, account, and customers. The current plugin page lists options including Bancontact, Belfius, KBC/CBC, cards, PayPal, and other local methods, but availability must be confirmed in the merchant's own account.

What is not yet proven?

The release notes confirm the removal but do not explain why it happened, whether plugin support will return, or why the current directory description still lists Payconiq. The evidence supports a migration decision, not a broader claim about Payconiq outside this plugin.
